The Indian e-Medical Attendant Visa is a sub-category of the e-Visa program created specifically for individuals accompanying a patient who holds a valid e-Medical Visa. This ensures that patients have the necessary familial or caregiver support during their treatment and recovery in India.

Eligibility & Limitations
  • Maximum Attendants: Only two (2) attendants are permitted per patient.

  • Relationship Requirement: Applicants must be close relatives or legal guardians of the patient.

  • Co-Terminus Status: The validity and entries of this visa are identical to the patient’s e-Medical Visa.

Validity and Entry Policy

60-Day Duration

The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of your first arrival in India alongside or after the patient.

Triple Entry

Allows for up to three entries within the 60-day period, matching the patient’s treatment windows.

2026 Application Requirements

Attendants must provide their own set of digital documents to link their application to the patient:

  • Passport Bio-Page: A high-resolution scan of the individual attendant's passport (valid for 6 months).

  • Patient Information: You must provide the Visa Number or Application ID of the primary patient’s e-Medical Visa.

  • Hospital Letter Copy: While the original is for the patient, attendants should carry a copy of the hospital invitation naming them as escorts.

  • Digital Photo: A standard 2x2 inch color photo on a white background (JPEG format).

Crucial Guidelines

Please note that the e-Medical Attendant Visa is non-convertible and non-extendable. Both the patient and the attendants must possess individual passports; children or spouses endorsed on another person's passport are not eligible for the e-Visa system.

For treatment exceeding 180 days, registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) is mandatory within 14 days of arrival.
